THANKFULNESS.

I’m behind, please excuse me…

Monday I was thankful for:

92. Old songs.

I have a playlist on my iPod of some of my favorite songs from my childhood. *NSync, Usher, and Eminem are the biggest contributors. Anyway, I can be in the worst mood and as soon as I start playing that playlist I’m dancing around my apartment lip-syncing into my hand with a smile on my face.

93. Getting Organized.

This, my friends, is a constant struggle for me. I am always, always, always getting myself organized and then I feel like 5 minutes later I’m searching relentlessly for something that I have just put in a place that “I’ll remember for sure!” am I the only one who does this? Oy, I hope not. Seriously though, its a problem. Luke and I were leaving my apartment a couple of weeks ago and he said something that really stuck with me…he said “For someone who is so organized, you’re a mess.” Anyway, I digress. Since I went away to college I have been getting more and more organized (slowly, but surely!) and it brings me so much happiness! I strive to be a Proverbs 31 woman in everything I do, and I know that part of that is keeping a clean house and I’ve never been so good at that…but when you pray, God changes things! I’m walking proof of that in so many more ways than just the fact that I’m getting better at keeping a clean apartment…but still. It’s big for me because it reminds me that God answers even the prayers that might seem small or silly to anyone else, but they’re important for me.

Tuesday I was thankful for…

94. The truest form of LOVE

Jesus Christ! HE died for us…and don’t get me wrong…I know Luke loves me and all…but I don’t think he’s volunteering to get on a cross and die for my sins anytime soon. I can’t ever love Luke as much as Christ loves him, and vice versa. Any amount of love we have for each other pales in comparison for the love that Jesus Christ has for us. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Valentines day. I mean, I did “14 days of Love” for Luke this year just so I could drag out the experience! Haha, but it just really weighed on my heart this year that maybe Valentines day isn’t just about that special someone…maybe it’s about love in ALL of its forms..love for family, love for friends, and most importantly, the love Christ showed for us on the cross..because if he had never loved us first, we wouldn’t be able to love.

Wednesday I was thankful for…

95. MY NANA JAN!

Guys, seriously, she’s my favorite person on planet earth. I love that woman more than I can even tell you. She’s an inspiration, and she’s like my twin. I’m going to look exactly like her when I’m her age, and also…we are the same exact person, just a couple years apart. So, yeah. Really though. I love her. I love her. I love her. I got a card from her for Valentines day that the printed words said “Just wanted to say…Happy Valentines Day!” Before the printed message she wrote “Lexi,” and afterwords she said “Love, Nana and Poppie! See you soon!” I sobbed for at least five minutes. Just because it was from her.

Today has already been full of things I’m thankful for…

96. Coffee

You might have noticed I’ve been rambling a bit in this insanely long post…that might be because I’ve consumed more than 1/2 liter of coffee already, and I’m not done yet. I’ve got a lot to do today, and being tired just isn’t an option!

97. My parents coming down this weekend!

It has been FAR too long since I’ve been home and I’m getting HOMESICK! But my parents are going to ease that this weekend by coming down, and then next weekend I’m going home! I’m going home! I’m going hoooomeee! YAY!

98. Random texts from Luke

“The Great American Melting Pot song stinks of cannibalism” that was all. Whaaaattt? Hahaha, got to love that boy. He keeps me on my toes.

Well, that’s all she wrote for now. If you really read all of this, you’re a trooper!
